Dr. Lucy Rycroft-Smith

PI and Facilitator

Lucy is a researcher, writer, designer and artist with a PhD in knowledge brokering from the University of Cambridge. Lucy was formerly a mathematics teacher and now is a knowledge broker in mathematics education: writing songs, creating illustrations and infographics, and writing and editing in the area of mathematics education research.

Dr. Natalie Flint

Researcher

Dr. Natalie Flint is a researcher at the Centre for Early Mathematics Learning at Loughborough University who studies how young children learn mathematics through everyday play and interaction. Her work focuses on understanding effective ways to support early mathematics learning, including through teaching approaches, interactions, and resources such as mathematics songs.

Sam Hartburn

Mathematician / Composer

Sam Hartburn is a freelance author, copyeditor and creative mathematician who works on maths resources spanning primary, secondary, undergraduate and recreational maths. She is a singer and songwriter and enjoys bringing maths to new audiences via mathematical songs.

Maureen Donnelly

Practitioner

Maureen Donnelly is a Pre-k teacher from Newark, DE and has a Bachelors degree in Human Development from Vanderbilt University and State of Delaware Early Childhood Teacher certification. She has worked in a private preschool setting teaching 4 year olds for 12 years and focuses on modeling, reading books, and personal connections to foster strong social emotional learning in the classroom.

Belle Rycroft-Smith

Composer and Technical Specialist

Belle loves making music and is always working on new songs and ideas. She particularly enjoys writing funk music and composing for strings, and is interested in how music and technology can be used together in creative projects.

Willow Marler

Designer / Animator

Willow Marler is an animator and designer working primarily in STEM communication. They have worked with organisations such as BBC, Royal Institution, and Cosmic Shambles Network, alongside science communicators like Tom Scott, Professor Hannah Fry, and Matt Parker.
